Granny - the award winner!

A while back I entered this photo of Granny in a an exhibition in Dublin (Friends of the Elderly). Well - the photo won an award! (a case of wine!). The Friends of the Elderly also used the photo to promote the exhibition and to date the photo has appeared in several national newspapers, and on the TV (Nationwide and the News!).

Go on ya good thing!

Cometh the hour...

Cometh the man - well that's what the match report and the newspapers said [read] - Diarmuid has just won himself another Connacht title - that's 3 this year! His U14 club team faced Monivea in the Connacht Final last weekend and the match ended a draw - very nervous stuff indeed.

Well they had the replay last night in Ballyhaunis and Sligo put their would be pretenders to rights with a superb victory.


Diarmuid had another strong game - he scored two tries in the first match and went and did the same again last night (and he setup Sligo's other try).


It's shame now that this team doesn't have an All Ireland Competition to go on to. The team has just started to peak and I doubt there's many teams in the Country that could stop them.

Diarmy adds another Connacht Medal - more to come?

Diarmuid's Junior team (u15) in Sligo Grammar School recently won the Connacht Cup - this follows from their great victory in the league earlier in the school year. They met Marist College in the final again and proved that their first victory wasn't a fluke. A great tense match - Diarmy had a fine game - lots of plaudits in the papers, playing in the second row.

Well Diarmuid has another Connacht Cup final tomorrow - this time with his Club Under 14 side against Monivea. They won the u13 title last year and with any luck they'll add to it tomorrow.
(BTW They had their semi final last week against Westport and Diarmuid got written up as 'Man of the Match').

I just haven't be able to find the time lately to update here. Sorry about that. Lots of stuff is falling into place nicely at the moment so hopefully I'll have more time shorty.

Meanwhile...

We're just back from a skiing holiday in France. We went with The Youngs, and Tim. Great time had by all. I will (promise) post some more images from this trip this weekend. Meanwhile - we've got a company night out tonight and Diarmuid is playing the U14 Connacht Semi-Final tomorrow against Westport (for his club).
